Digesett pledges to enhance road infrastructure in Verón-Punta Cana
Verón-Punta Cana.- To identify solutions for traffic congestion in Verón-Punta Cana, Pascual Cruz Méndez, director of the General Directorate of Traffic Safety and Land Transportation (Digesett), conducted a comprehensive supervision and diagnostic tour in the municipal district.
During the visit, Cruz Méndez was accompanied by Mayor Ramón Antonio Ramírez, regional director of Intrant Félix de la Rosa, Igor Souza of Intraf, Ernesto Veloz, president of Asoleste, and Alejandro Piñeyro, deputy director of Planning for Digesett, among others. Using drone technology, critical congestion points were assessed, and coordinated actions were defined with municipal authorities, the private sector, and national mobility agencies to improve traffic flow and road safety.
The visit highlighted the importance of directly addressing key traffic issues and implementing immediate and sustainable solutions in the busy tourist area. Cruz Méndez later met with Frank Rainieri and Frank Elías Rainieri, president and CEO of the Punta Cana Group, to discuss mobility and road safety strategies. The business leaders praised the general’s proactive approach and emphasized the importance of strengthening road safety awareness and infrastructure. At the conclusion of the meeting, Digesett awarded the Rainieri family its official pin in recognition of their commitment to mobility and traffic safety in the region.

LOL…more photo ops and nothing more. Our crew of shade tree Digisett officers are not in the least, qualified to really tackle the aggressive transfer, transportation and commercial drivers who are the brunt of the PROBLEMS in Punta Cana. A bull with no balls. What the heck are “drones” going to be used for? They already installed cameras, that even if they work (I doubt it), nobody pays attention to them.
Daily, on a local new outlet, video of reckless drivers are posted, yet I really doubt Digisett goes after them. They much prefer backing up traffic as they check registrations under the shade of the trees.
Spend 1 hour with me driving, and we can fill a book of tickets and challenge the ever growing number of reckless and dangerous drivers in the region.
Until then, just another photo for the wall of nothing accomplished.
Seeing is believing.
