Consumer protection warns of glitches in Honda, Citroën, Subaru

Santo Domingo.- The consumer protectionagency (Pro Consumidor) on Monday issued new alerts for glitches from thefactory on vehicles of the various Honda models, Citroën, and the Subaru Legacyand the Outback.

The agency said it shares the information to alertconsumers and agencies which locally distributed brands.

It cites defective inflators in Takata airbags in some Honda models and defects found in the ABS brake system in Citroënvehicles.

"In other brands of Japanese origin,Subaru Legacy and Outback damage has been detected to the electronic brake parkingsystem, which leads to an imminent risk to consumer safety," the agencysaid in a statement.

Pro Consumidor director Anina del Castillo recentlyrevealed safety issues found in General Motors Corporation (GMC) vehicles, includingChevrolet Silverado, Tahoe, Suburban and Corvette.

She urged people to access the agency’s websiteregarding the shortcomings of domestically marketed products that could pose aserious risk to consumers’ health and safety.
