World Bank’s new Caribbean director coming to visit

Santo Domingo.- The recently appointed World Bank director for the Caribbean, Tahseen Sayed Khan, will visit the Dominican Republic this week to meet with government officials and discuss World Bank support for national efforts to eradicate extreme poverty and foster shared prosperity .

Sayed met with the National Economic Team, headed by the ministers of the Economy and of Finance, Isidoro Santana and Donald Guerrero, respectively, and with executives of the World Bank and the International Finance Corporation, Alessandro Legrottaglie and Guillermo Villanueva, and leaders of the private sector and civil society.

The new director is scheduled to visit a training center under the Social Protection Program and a project in support of trade facilitation with technical and financial support from the World Bank Group.
