Airports manager installs high-output solar panels at terminals

Santo Domingo.– Airports management company Aerodom on Wed. announced the installation of solar panel parks of high-generation, interconnected systems in the country’s airports, as part of its commitment to protecting the environment.

Aerodom initiated this project by installing a solar park composed of 1,670 panels, with a production of 543 KWp at Luperon International Airport in Puerto Plata, with 12% of its current energy consumption.

“At Isabela Dr. Joaquín Balaguer international airport, in Santo Domingo Norte, Aerodom has put into operation a solar park with 2,640 panels, with a production of 858 KWp, equivalent to 43% of the energy consumed in this airport, and in the María Montez, in Barahona, has installed a park of 616 panels, with a production of 200 kWp, equivalent to 78% of current energy consumption,” it said in a press release.
