Medina pledges support for Northeast cocoa growers

Santo Domingo.- President Danilo Medina on Sunday visited La Coyera, where he pledged financial  support for cocoa plantations, at the farmer’s settlement La Manteca, in northeastern María Trinidad Sánchez province.

Medina pledged support for a project, which will improve the living conditions of more than 3,000 people from several villages.

Among the assistance which the growers requested figure a warehouse, a truck to transport the harvest, all accepted by Medina, who added that the Agriculture Ministry, “is going to build the warehouse and the dryer at the Government’s expense.”
