Dominican Republic exports jump 8.3% to US$2.3B in 1Q

Santo Domingo.- Dominican Exporters Association (Adoexpo), president Luis Concepción affirmed Mon. that Dominican Republic’s exports topped US $2.3 billion in the first quarter, a 8.30% jumpe compared to the same period last year.
He said Customs Directorate (DGA) preliminary figures show a 10% growth in national exports compared to 2017. “Free Trade Zones also had an increase of 7.10%, between last January and March.”
Concepción provided the figures to open the Adoexpo lunch-conference), where Presidency Administrative minister, José Ramón Peralta, spoke about the export sector’s challenges and opportunities within the “Exports Promotion Year ” held in the Hotel El Embajador.
