Dominican Republic Industries: educational model obsolete

Santo Domingo.- Dominican Republic Industries Association (AIRD) president Celso Juan Marranzini, on Tuesday highlighted the importance of changing the country’s educational model because in his view the current one is obsolete “if we want to reach the Fourth Industrial Revolution.”

“Whether we like it or not, we are going to have to change some concepts and that will obviously be very complex,” he said.

He said the “unprecedented” technological revolution makes the boundaries between physical technologies and the biological ones, “which leads to major redefinitions in the concepts of work, business, the tax collection model and of course the educational model.”

The business leader headed the annual lunch and delivery of the Industrial Merit Award, the National Award for Dominican Industry and the Institutional Work Award in Support of the Industrial Sector.
