Police arrest six alleged wire and cable thieves

Santo Domingo.- Police agents today arrested six alleged thieves and look for another for stealing wires and cables from the power company Ege-Haina, in San Pedro (east), and iron and other metals in different zones, including 481 steel plates from the bridge Mauricio Báez, on in the Eastern Motorway.

The Police said the suspects had become a dangerous ring whose numerous burglaries led to losses by companies, the government and private citizens.

The Police needed that the prisoners are Rafael Batista Francisco (Bobolita), said to be the ringleader; Roberto Garcia Pemberton, Ramon Ortega Reyes (Ramoncito), Edison Batista Francisco, and two minors whose names were omitted.

The Police added that it had search and arrest warrants when it detained the ring, in the sector Blanco.
