Bills set tougher gun controls, trim number of high pay government jobs

Santo Domingo.- The Chamber of Deputies on Tuesday passed a bill which would place stricter control on guns, ammunition, explosives and related materials.

If approved, the legislation proposed by minority opposition PRSC deputy Victor Bisono is expected to reduce the crimes and violence, with stiffer penalties.

The deputies also passed the Public Administration Statutory Law, via which the Executive Branch will trim the number of vice ministers who get paid despite not having specific functions.
