I’ll defend my honor anywhere, beleaguered lawmaker says

Santo Domingo.- San Juan province senator Felix Bautista on Tuesday denied taking part in corruption during his eight years as head of the State Works Supervisory Engineers Office, for which he’s willing to defend his honor and integrity in any venue.

The also ruling PLD party organizational secretary called the embezzlement charges filed against him by the Civic Anti-Corruption Movement, “a manipulation of an Accounts Chamber audit.”

On Twitter, the beleaguered lawmaker and close collaborator of former president Leonel Fernandez said the Accounts Chamber audit of February 4, 2013, didn’t find criminal responsibility. "As noted, the unfounded accusations and interpretations of the audit seek to gain public notoriety."
