All Police agents in Dominican Republic border town ‘quit’

Dajabón, Dominican Republic.- All members of Dajabón Police precinct, whose transfer was ordered by National Police Chief Manuel Castro, refused to comply and resigned by turning in their badges.
The mass resignation took place just as their replacement agents arrived from nearby Mao (northwest).
Precinct commander Col. Ivan Bello was the only officer serving in the province who wasn’t issued transfer orders, although police headquarters didn’t reveal the reason behind the unprecedented measure.
The resignations come after Police Maj. Félix Aquino was arrested for alleged links with some Haitians.
Aquino was reportedly escorted to Police headquarters in the capital, after his arrest upon allegedly returning from Haiti on Friday.
