Police nab most notorious scammer, again

Santo Domingo.- The National Police on Wednesday announced the arrest of Dominican Republic’s most notorious confidence man in the sector Alma Rosa, eastern Santo Domingo, whose numerous scams include several bogus marriages dating back to the mid 1970s.

Mario Radhamés Durán, "El Muelu" (Big Molar) was arrested Tuesday on a warrant for 17 charges of fraud.

The police said Duran, accused by three women and one man of fraud totalling more than RD$50,000, confessed to the charges.
