Greeted with cheers, Medina tours damages on north coast

Puerto Plata.- President Danilo Medina on Wednesdayvisited the neighborhoods most affected by the torrential rains over the northcoast, which caused extensive damage and left hundreds of victims in PuertoPlata province and other areas of the north.

Medina said he wanted to see the aftermath inthe neighborhoods that were flooded due to the downpours throughout the week. Hewas surrounded by residents who hugged him and let out cheers.

The Head of State was accompanied by several ministersas well as provincial and municipal officials on a tour of the damages,including six bridges, sidewalks, roads among others.
