Palace Christmas lights in solidarity for flooding victims

Santo Domingo.- The National Palace turned onthe Christmas lights Sunday night, but without the usual fanfare as a show ofsolidarity for the calamity of residents in several towns due to the flooding.
Thousands of multicolored bulbs that announcethe arrival of the most revered of holidays for Dominicans were lit to brightenthe Palace’s interiors, gardens, shrubs, trees and palms.
A manger, the typical birth scene of Jesus isplaced on a platform several steps high in the front esplanade of the Palace.
