Espaillat to mark Dominican Heritage Month in Washington

Dominican Heritage Month Begins on January 21st through February 27th and honors the legacy and contributions of New York’s Dominican American community.

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Adriano Espaillat (NY13) recognizes Dominican Heritage Month and announces Dominican Heritage Month Celebration event in Washington, D.C. on Monday, February 5th at 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. EST in the Rayburn House Office Building, room 2200.

“As the first Dominican American to serve in the United States Congress, I am proud to recognize Dominican Heritage Month and celebrate the contributions Dominican-Americans have made to society,” said Rep. Espaillat. “Dominican-Americans have worked hard to contribute to the nation and our contributions can be found in every facet of United States life. From notable individuals in media, arts and entertainment, fashion, sports, and business, Dominican-Americans have made numerous economic, cultural, and social contributions to communities throughout New York and around the nation.

“I am proud to stand as a member of the United States Congress to represent New York’s 13th congressional district and to honor the legacy and contributions of Dominican Americans with a national celebration to reflect and acknowledge the tremendous courage and sacrifices of our forefathers and the next generation of Dominican American leaders and their impact to their communities.”
