Greens demand Accounts Chamber sacked, snarl traffic

Santo Domingo.- The Green March staged a protest early Thurs. in front of the Accounts Chamber building, where they demanded the firing of its members.

The Greens say the Chamber’s five members violated the Constitution and the law that regulates government salaries, when the unilaterally increasing their wages.

“That tick of stealing is going to end, what balls these thieves have,” and “push the thieves out,” were some of the chants voiced in front of the Accounts Chamber.

Green March spokesman Manuel Robles said he expects Congress to remove the Chamber officials.

After the protest, the Greens walked onto the 27 de Febrero elevated highway and snarled traffic.
