39,000 first responders in Operation Safe Christmas

Santo Domingo.- The Emergency Operations Center (COE) will have a team of more than 39,000 people including doctors, military, police and search-and-rescue as part of the operation “Safe Christmas, A Pact For Life 2018-2019” to prevent traffic accidents and food and alcohol poisoning.

The COE said that there will be 1,831 aid stations located in critical points across the country.

Likewise, 139 ambulances, three helicopters flying over roads and highways, 95 Immediate Response Units, 23 rescue vehicles deployed on highways and strategic points, nine Regional Command Centers and 33 mobile workshops.

This first stage begins 2pm Sunday and concludes 6pm December 25.
