Rains to continue today in several regions of the country due to frontal system

The National Office of Meteorology reported that today a frontal system will be located over Dominican territory, generating clouds from the early hours of the day accompanied by moderate to heavy downpours, thundershowers at times, and gusty winds, until late afternoon and early evening, over locations located on the slopes: northwest, north, northeast and the Central Cordillera.

The Onamet added that this rainfall activity would move towards the eastern part of the country as the frontal system passes over the island.

On the Atlantic coast, small and fragile boat operators are advised to navigate cautiously near the coastal perimeter without venturing out to sea due to wind and abnormal waves.

Temperatures will suffer a decrease due to the passage of the frontal system and the increase of the north wind. Temperatures are forecast between 2°C and 10°C in mountain areas such as Constanza, Jarabacoa, Hondo Valle, and Polo. They could be between -4°C and 2°C in higher altitudes, such as Valle Nuevo and Pico Duarte.

For this Monday
Weather conditions will be dominated by the arrival of a low-humidity air mass associated with a high-pressure system.

For this reason, there will be mostly sunny skies and little rainfall over most of the country, with some isolated showers and occasional gusts of wind, due to the effects of wind and local terrain towards locations in the north, northeast, and mountain systems.
