Source: Diario Libre

The School Mobility Pilot Plan, which began on January 10 in Monte Plata, La Victoria, and Haina and has benefited 100,000 students, will be expanded to the municipalities of Cambita and Palenque in San Cristóbal and Pedro Brand in the province of Santo Domingo. The coordinating entity, the Ministry of Education, reported that they are in the process of selecting personnel to work on this expansion of the project, whose goal is to ensure that the children who make up the public education system arrive at educational establishments in a comfortable, safe, and free environment.

The Minerd collaborates with the National Institute of Transit and Terrestrial Transport (Intrant) and the Metropolitan Office of Bus Services (OMSA) to determine the routes and stops that will benefit approximately 50,000 students. In this regard, the Ministry of Education prepares a tender for electric buses, which will be integrated into the routes to the extent that they are coordinated.

The Mobility program aims to ensure the safety of every student in the public system when traveling to and from the educational center, to improve the quality of the teaching and learning process in the classroom, and the quality of life for families.

Glad this is happening. Let’s hope this program continues to expand for the good of the children.
