Earthquake strongly felt in several cities in the Dominican Republic
A first by Google’s Earthquake Alert System reported magnitude 4.5 tremor and later reported by the USGS (United States Geological Survey) as a magnitude 4.1 earthquake was strongly felt in several cities in the Dominican Republic, including Santo Domingo, at noon this Holy Saturday. According to preliminary reports, it was recorded 15 kilometers from Villa Altagracia, at 12:13 in the afternoon.
The earthquake had its epicenter in the Central mountain range, 13 km SE of San José de Ocoa, northwest of San Cristóbal, southwest of Villa Altagracia, south of Bonao, and north of Baní, without registering damage so far.
