Vice President of the Chamber of Accounts refuses to speak about what was discussed in the interrogation

Santo Domingo.- Elsa María Catano, the vice president of the management office of the Chamber of Accounts, has refused to provide statements regarding the details discussed during her interrogation by a special commission of deputies investigating irregularities and conflicts within the organization.

Catano, who was the second person to be interviewed, spent over two hours answering questions in the Hugo Tolentino Dipp Room of the Lower House, where the investigations are being conducted.

Prior to Catano’s meeting with the legislators, she observed the proceedings as Janel Ramírez, the president of the Chamber of Accounts, faced the commission’s questioning.

Currently, the commission is conducting an investigation involving Tomasina Tolentino, the secretary of the Chamber of Accounts. Once the commission concludes with Tolentino, they will temporarily pause the interviews before resuming with other members of the constitutional body’s Plenary, as well as certain employees associated with the organization.
