Implosion at Casa Brugal Distillery in San Pedro de Macorís

San Pedro de Macorís.- An incident occurred today at the Casa Brugal Distillery in San Pedro de Macorís around 11:25 a.m., where a vinasse storage tank imploded during welding work by two external technicians from a contracting company. Casa Brugal has reported that the technicians are currently missing and that all operations have been halted as safety protocols were immediately activated.

Emergency services, including the Fire Department, Civil Defense, and 911, are on-site to assist in the rescue efforts. The company has contacted the contractor and the technicians’ families to keep them informed. All other employees have been safely evacuated, and those not involved in rescue operations have been sent home.

Casa Brugal reiterated its commitment to ensuring the safety of all personnel and stated that it will provide ongoing updates as rescue efforts continue.
