Venezuela extends flight suspension with Dominican Republic

Santo Domingo.- The Venezuelan government has extended its suspension of flights to and from the Dominican Republic, Peru, and Panama for another month, maintaining the restrictions originally imposed in July. The measure, outlined in a notification to airmen released on September 30, will now remain in effect until October 30, according to a bulletin cited by Diario Libre.

The suspension was initially implemented after these countries openly questioned the results of Venezuela’s presidential elections, in which the National Electoral Council (CNE) declared Nicolás Maduro as the president-elect. The decision is viewed as part of Venezuela’s broader response to international criticism of its electoral processes.
