President Abinader promotes dialogue and consensus on Fiscal Modernization Bill

Santo Domingo.- President Luis Abinader remains committed to dialogue and openness in refining the Fiscal Modernization Bill. He emphasized the need for a tripartite meeting involving Congress, social sectors, and the government to discuss the proposals in detail and make necessary concessions. This approach aims to gather input and reach a consensus on key issues, including the review of certain proposals such as the IPI tax.

Abinader reiterated the government’s commitment to listening to the population and promoting consensus in all major decisions. He highlighted the importance of securing resources for essential reforms, such as police restructuring, while maintaining a balanced approach. The president assured that the government has always prioritized rational decision-making and consensus-building.

Public hearings, open to various sectors, will commence on Thursday in the Chamber of Deputies, with a commission dedicated to studying the Fiscal Modernization Bill and incorporating input from all stakeholders.
