President Abinader launches ‘Alerta DO’ app for real-time emergency response

Santo Domingo.- President Luis Abinader introduced the “Alerta DO” mobile application at the weekly press conference “La Semanal,” set to launch in late November by the Civil Defense. This app will provide real-time, geo-referenced information on infrastructure and emergency events, allowing users to monitor and report incidents as they occur. Through the platform, users can share alerts about issues like fallen trees, landslides, and floods, benefiting those nearby with timely information.

According to Civil Defense Director Juan Salas, the Alerta DO app will support disaster management efforts by aiding in prevention, mitigation, response, and recovery. Additionally, users will receive location-based notifications, which can be crucial for addressing local emergencies. The app also includes event-specific preparation tips and safety recommendations to guide users in various situations.
