RD Salsa All Stars Live kicks off tour in the National District

Santo Domingo.- The new project “RD Salsa All Stars Live” aims to revitalize salsa music in the Dominican Republic, bringing together prominent Dominican salsa artists for a series of concerts. The first event is set for Friday, November 8, at Ferro Café in the National District, featuring well-known performers like Alberto María, Jehu el Rey, Johny García, and Lonely William, with guest appearances from Pedrito Lama and merengue singer Sary “La Patrona.”

Spearheaded by businessman Ángel Sánchez, president of AS Creativa, in partnership with Quintana Productions and Yamel Gómez Production, the initiative seeks to boost the visibility of salsa on national and international stages. Despite gaining airtime on Dominican radio, many of these talented salsa artists often lack performance opportunities, which this project hopes to address.

Sánchez emphasizes that these artists possess the talent and track record to succeed internationally, with planned tour stops in Colombia, Peru, and Chile. Among the featured artists, Alberto María is celebrated for hits like “Sombra” and “El Tren,” while Jehu el Rey and Pedrito Lama have popular tracks like “Tú sin mí” and “La llamada de mi ex.” The project will continue with additional concerts on November 15 and 22, marking what Sánchez describes as a new era for Dominican salsa.
