Cool and pleasant temperatures forecast for Sunday
Increased cloudiness due to a weak frontal system to the north of the country and a trough to the south of the island.
Santo Domingo—The Dominican Institute of Meteorology (Indomet) forecast for this Sunday increases cloudiness due to a weak frontal system to the north of the country and a trough to the south of the island with little moisture content.
However, both meteorological systems are not expected to produce significant accumulated rainfall over the Dominican territory.
Indomet indicated that despite this, occasional light rains could occur, being very locally moderate in different towns of the provinces of La Altagracia, Samaná, María Trinidad Sánchez, Duarte, Espaillat, Hermanas Mirabal, Puerto Plata, Santiago, Dajabón, Monte Cristi, Santiago Rodríguez, Monseñor Nouel, Pedernales, Barahona, Independencia, among other communities of the southwest and the border area.
It also recommended that operators of fragile, small, and medium-sized vessels remain in port on the Atlantic Coast, from Cabo Engaño in the province of La Altagracia to Cabo Cabrón in the province of Samaná.
However, for the rest of the coast, they urged caution near the coastal perimeter due to moderate wind and abnormal waves.
Storm Sara
Indomet reaffirmed that tropical storm Sara does not pose any danger to the country due to its position, distance, and displacement.
This meteorological system is located approximately 90 km south/southeast of Belize City. It has maximum sustained winds of 65 km/h and is moving towards the west/northwest at 7 km/h.
It was also reported that the minimum temperature will be between 20 °C and 22 °C, and the maximum will range between 29 °C and 31°.
