Israeli Embassy in the Dominican Republic inaugurates “Iron Wings” art exhibition

Santo Domingo.- The Israeli Embassy in the Dominican Republic, in collaboration with Quinta Dominica and Casa de Arte Sosúa, unveiled the art exhibition Iron Wings on Thursday. Featuring 22 thought-provoking works, the exhibit highlights the global need to end violence against women, inspired by the tragic events of October 7, 2023, in Israel, where hundreds of women were victims of sexual violence.

Ambassador Raslan Abu Rukun, in his opening remarks, commemorated the victims and emphasized the role of education and awareness in eradicating gender-based violence. “This initiative reflects on a crisis that has impacted not only Israeli women but countless others worldwide,” he stated. Renaud Anselin, founder of Quinta Dominica, echoed this sentiment, celebrating art as a symbol of life, peace, and hope in the face of violence.

The exhibit, open at Quinta Dominica Cultural Center from December 6, 2024, to January 8, 2025, will donate proceeds from artwork sales to support institutions aiding victims of gender violence in Israel. The event drew diplomats, local officials, business leaders, and Dominican artists, underscoring its cultural and humanitarian significance.
