Meteorology forecasts weak to moderate rains

Today, there will be weak to moderate rains in Puerto Plata, Espaillat, Samaná, Hato Mayor, La Altagracia, El Seibo, La Romana, San Pedro de Macorís, La Vega, Azua, Barahona, Pedernales, Bahoruco and San Juan de la Maguana.

The Dominican Institute of Meteorology (Indomet) reported that rainfall will begin in the morning and become more intense in the afternoon. This is generated by the wind’s drag and the trough’s incidence.

Low temperatures

Temperatures are expected to be low due to the time of year and the cool wind from the northeast, especially at night and early morning and towards mountainous areas.

In Greater Santo Domingo

The weather forecaster predicts that there will be slight cloud increases and some isolated showers in Greater Santo Domingo.

The minimum temperature is between 19 °C and 21 °C, and the maximum temperature is between 28 °C and 30 °C.

Five provinces on alert

The Emergency Operations Center (COE) maintains a green alert for five provinces due to the possibility of rivers, streams, ravines, and urban flooding.

Puerto Plata, Espaillat, María Trinidad Sánchez, Hermanas Mirabal, and Duarte are under green alert.
