Dominican Navy rescues 24 people from capsized boat

El Seibo, DR.- The Dominican Republic Navy, with Air Force support, rescued 24 individuals north of Celedonio, Seibo province, after their clandestine vessel capsized during an attempted illegal journey to Puerto Rico.
According to a statement, the rescue operation involved coordinated efforts by maritime, air, and land units. All 24 individuals were found in stable condition despite the precarious situation caused by the boat’s capsizing.
The Navy confirmed that search and rescue operations are ongoing to ensure no one remains missing and to provide further assistance to those rescued. Authorities urged citizens to avoid the risks of illegal travel on unseaworthy vessels, emphasizing the dangers such journeys pose to human life.
