Japanese Embassy donates over $54,000 to boost security in Los Cacaos
Santo Domingo.- The Japanese Embassy in the Dominican Republic has donated US$54,596 to the City Council of Los Cacaos for the purchase of a fire truck and an ambulance. This initiative aims to enhance emergency response and community safety.
At a formal ceremony, Japanese Ambassador Hayakawa Osamu and Los Cacaos Mayor Modesto Lara signed an agreement solidifying this collaboration. The donation is part of Japan’s “Non-Reimbursable Financial Assistance for Community Projects for Human Security” program, which focuses on improving the quality of life in vulnerable communities.
Mayor Lara expressed gratitude, highlighting the critical role the vehicles will play in protecting lives. Ambassador Osamu emphasized the importance of strengthening ties between Japan and the Dominican Republic while reaffirming Japan’s commitment to local development. This contribution marks a significant step in improving emergency services and the overall well-being of Los Cacaos residents.
