Abinader to inaugurate “Month of the Homeland 2025”

Santo Domingo.- President Luis Abinader will inaugurate the “Month of the Homeland 2025” on Sunday, January 26, in honor of Juan Pablo Duarte, the founding father of the Dominican Republic, born on this day in 1813. The event, organized by the Permanent Commission of Patriotic Anniversaries, celebrates national pride and civic values, as noted by Commission President Juan Pablo Uribe.

The program begins at 8:00 a.m. in Duarte Park with a civic-military ceremony, including floral offerings and a reading by the Ministry of Defense. At 9:00 a.m., a tedeum will be officiated by Monsignor Ramón Alfredo de la Cruz Baldera at the Santa Ana Cathedral. President Abinader will lead the official opening at 10:00 a.m., featuring speeches from officials, including Duarte Province Governor Ana Xiomara Cortés. The day will conclude with a patriotic, military, and student parade in Duarte Park.
