Duartiano Institute invites public to vintage car exhibition and parade this Sunday
Santo Domingo.- Vintage car enthusiasts and patriots alike will gather in Santo Domingo on Sunday, February 2, for the “Caravana por la Patria 2025”, an annual event organized by the Duartiano Institute. This patriotic parade will feature a stunning display of classic automobiles, some over 70 years old, as they travel through the city in celebration of the Month of the Homeland. The procession will begin at 3 p.m. from Puerta de San Diego and conclude at the Altar de la Patria.
According to Wilson Gómez Ramírez, president of the Duartiano Institute, the event is a tribute to Dominican history, allowing attendees to appreciate the beauty of vintage cars while embracing national pride. Participating car clubs include the Antique and Classic Car Club (CAACRD), Caprice Classic Club, Volkswagen Cepillo Club, GM Power DR, Dominican Collectors of Antique Cars (CDAA), Mustang Club, and Mercedes Benz Classic Club, among others.
The Duartiano Institute, founded in 1964, is committed to preserving the legacy of Juan Pablo Duarte. Through this event, it seeks to merge cultural heritage with patriotic pride, inviting citizens to relive history through the elegance of classic automobiles.
