Digesett introduces electric car to enhance road safety in the Colonial Zone
Santo Domingo.- The General Directorate of Traffic Safety and Land Transportation (Digesett) has introduced an electric vehicle to modernize traffic control in the Colonial Zone, a key tourist area in the Dominican Republic. This initiative, which also includes the use of electric scooters, aims to improve surveillance, reduce accidents, and promote sustainability.
During the presentation, General Osoria and businessman Billy Rafael Romero highlighted the significance of this addition to Digesett’s operations. The vehicle, equipped with live-streaming cameras, airbags, side sensors, and a 170-kilometer range, will enhance patrol efficiency while minimizing environmental impact. Osoria emphasized that road safety remains a priority and that integrating electric transportation aligns with efforts to create a safer and greener urban space.
Billy Rafael, from Centro Electric Cics, SRL, detailed the car’s features, underscoring its role in improving mobility and security in the Colonial Zone. With this step, Digesett aims to streamline traffic management and enhance pedestrian and driver safety in one of the country’s most frequented areas.
