Customs inaugurates Nestlé logistics center to boost economic growth

Santo Domingo.- President Luis Abinader and Customs Director Eduardo Sanz Lovatón inaugurated the new NODO logistics distribution center, developed in partnership with Nestlé Dominicana. Spanning 95,000 square meters, this state-of-the-art facility will serve as Nestlé’s primary distribution hub in the country, reinforcing the Dominican Republic’s position as a leading logistics center in the region.

With a $17.5 million investment, the center aims to enhance logistics operations and stimulate economic growth. Its first phase, covering 19,400 square meters, will accommodate 65,000 storage positions and generate over 300 direct and 150 indirect jobs, with a 20% expansion expected this year. Officials emphasized the project’s role in optimizing supply chains, improving product availability, and driving innovation in logistics.

This initiative aligns with the modernization of the country’s customs framework, following the 2020 Customs Law, which has improved regulatory efficiency and attracted further investment. The facility is expected to strengthen the logistics sector, fostering job creation and economic development in the Dominican Republic.
