Explosion in Piantini leaves several injured and causes structural damage

Santo Domingo.- At least five people were injured on Friday following an explosion at the Villa Palmera 457 building on Roberto Pastoriza Avenue in Piantini, National District. Seven ambulances from the Directorate of Extra-hospital Emergency Services (DAEH) responded promptly, providing medical assistance before transporting the unidentified victims to various health centers. Details on their conditions remain undisclosed.

The explosion caused significant structural damage, with broken glass and fallen railings visible inside and outside the building. The cause of the explosion is still unknown.

In addition to DAEH, two units from the National District Fire Department evacuated the building. Members of the Directorate of Traffic Safety and Land Transport (Digesett) and the National Police secured the area, while the 911 drone team assisted in assessing the situation.
