Santo Domingo.- The Eastern Electricity Distribution Company (EDEEste) conducted operations to dismantle illegal connections, normalize services, and incorporate new customers in various communities within its concession area. These efforts aimed to enhance service reliability and promote legal electricity usage.

In the Villa Guerrero sector of Santa Cruz del Seibo, authorities intervened on several streets, including Fray Luis Oreguis, Los Ángeles, Peatonal 7, and Peatonal 8, part of the SEIBO01 circuit. Approximately 350 illegal connections were removed, 47 existing services were regularized, and 56 new customers were added. Similarly, in the INVI sector of San Pedro de Macorís, on Julio Anglada Street (ZFSP04 circuit), around 250 unauthorized connections were dismantled, 135 new clients were connected, and vulnerable networks were replaced. The company also installed 700 meters of triplex cable to improve electrical service quality and safety.

EDEEste urged residents to legalize their electricity connections, warning that illegal hookups compromise system stability and pose safety risks. The company emphasized the importance of regularization to ensure reliable and secure electricity distribution.

This is an improvement. Yet, it goes without saying as soon as the EDEEste crews departed new illegal connections were being made.
