Victims expose new financial scam in the Dominican Republic

Santo Domingo.- Hundreds of investors in the Dominican Republic claim to have been scammed by Billions Trade Club, a financial platform led by Jorge Enrique Rodríguez Frausto, which allegedly collapsed in July 2024. Now, they warn that the same founders have relaunched under a new name, Billions Tokenized Cities, operating with a similar scheme.

Victims say they were deceived with promises of secure investments in real estate and cryptocurrencies, only to lose access to their funds. Experts, including Spanish lawyer Carlos Aránguez Sánchez, have identified the project as a Ponzi scheme, with returns dependent on recruiting new investors. Investigations have also linked the operation to OneCoin and IcomTech, two infamous international scams.

As authorities investigate, Dominican victims are mobilizing to file complaints and demand action from regulatory agencies. They urge financial watchdogs to intervene and prevent further losses in what they believe is a repackaged fraudulent operation.
