The list of the most wanted by the Police reaches 133 in the Dominican Republic

Santo Domingo — The National Police lists 133 of the most wanted fugitives nationally.

These alleged anti-social elements are being hunted for homicides, criminal association and carrying firearms, bullet wounds, escaping from prison, kidnapping and attempted murder, armed robbery and bullet wounds, aggravated robbery, cybercrime, theft and fraud, injuries, robbery, attempted homicide, homicide and attempted murder, rape, and theft.

Until last Sunday, the list stood at 134; with the death of the anti-social Yuneldy Manuel Mercado Díaz at the hands of the National Police, it dropped to 133.

Among the ten most wanted murderers, Martín Camilo tops the list, followed by Carlos Darian Beltré Acosta, Araujo Batista López, Carlos Luis Encarnación, Ángel Manuel Feliz Vargas, José David Rojas Muese, José Luis de la Cruz Reyes, Elvin Alfredo Marte Tapia, Ismael Ceballo Pérez and Fernando Capellán Maria (a) Barranco.

In Santo Domingo Este, the most wanted are Jhony Joseph for homicide, Albert Lora Jiménez for homicide, Elviyn Miguel González Montero for homicide, Livio Alexander Mejía Mora for homicide, Ricardo Báez Feliz for homicide, Johan Manuel Rosario Santo for homicide, Edwin de Oleo Montero for homicide, Osvaldo Francisco Santana for homicide, Geraldo Ramírez Paniagua also for homicide and, finally, Pedro Jorge Brito Feliz, also for homicide.

Meanwhile, in Santiago, the ten most wanted are Edward De Jesús Pérez Silverio, wanted for homicide; Wilkyns José Vásquez Cruz, Viryi Alexander Enmanuel Vargas Gómez, for homicide; Jhordany Almonte Santos, for homicide; Santo Severino Álvarez, also for homicide; Ronny Abel Sánchez Morrillo, for homicide; Gelson Emmanuel Almonte Peña, for assault; Alison Tolentino, for criminal association and attempted murder; Feliz José Rosario Toribio (a.k.a. El Lender), wanted for murder, and finally, the deceased Yuneldy Manuel Mercado Díaz, who was also prosecuted.

Yuneldy, alias “La Cobra,” who was 24 years old, died last Sunday in Santiago after confronting a team of police officers and representatives of the Public Prosecutor’s Office with gunfire while they were carrying out a raid on his residence to arrest him for the murder of José de Jesús Ceballos Reyes, nicknamed Cholo, which occurred on May 30, 2024. The armed forces reported this.

Yuneldy Mercado, who was also wanted on other charges, such as robbery, was being pursued under arrest warrant No. 05009-2024 for violating articles 379 and 386-2 of the Dominican Penal Code, which criminalize robbery.

According to a police press release, after detecting the arrival of the authorities at his home in the La Ciénaga sector of the Villa González municipality, Mercado Díaz opened fire on the officers, forcing them to shoot back.

This caused him to suffer injuries and, subsequently, death while receiving medical attention in a health center, according to the report shared by the police institution.

Forensic police arrived at the scene and collected as evidence a Sportarns revolver, caliber 38, serial number 09137, with two spent cartridges inside and four unfired capsules, used to attack the officers.

The body was transferred to the National Institute of Forensic Sciences (INACIF) for legal purposes.
