Santo Domingo.- A 5.8 magnitude earthquake struck the Atlantic Ocean at 1:48 a.m. (local time), 87 km off the coast of the Dominican Republic, with a depth of 46 km. The tremor was felt in several areas of the country and parts of Puerto Rico.
Despite its intensity and shallow depth, authorities confirmed no significant damage or casualties. No tsunami warnings were issued. However, the quake caused concern among residents, particularly in coastal and urban areas.
