Dominican Army detains two for smuggling Haitians

Montecristi.- The Dominican Army detained two Dominican nationals, Anden Acosta Fernández and Julio Antonio Santana, at the Bontoncillo military checkpoint in Montecristi for smuggling two undocumented Haitian nationals. According to N Digital, the migrants were hidden—one in the truck’s cabin and the other beneath a load of green bananas. The suspects will be handed over to the Public Prosecutor’s Office on human trafficking charges.
Additionally, Army patrols intercepted 19 undocumented Haitians—10 men, 6 women, and 3 minors—walking in the coastal area of Villa Vásquez, Montecristi. They were transferred to the General Directorate of Migration for processing.
Over the weekend, military operations in multiple provinces led to the detention of 1,369 undocumented Haitian nationals. The arrests were conducted from Friday, June 21, to Sunday, June 23, with 557 detained on Friday, 453 on Saturday, and 359 on Sunday. All individuals were handed over for repatriation procedures.
Let’s end this nonsense once in for all by implementing the death penalty for these national traitors who engage in illegal migrant smuggling.
