JCE advances tender process for new ID card system

Santo Domingo.- The Central Electoral Board (JCE) has received proposals from companies competing to supply equipment, materials, and services for issuing a new national ID card. During the accreditation process, bidders submitted technical samples and sealed economic proposals in compliance with state procurement protocols.
Three consortia participated: EMDOC, ID Secure IDSi, and Cédula 4.0 FZCO, all meeting legal and regulatory requirements. JCE’s Procurement and Contracting Committee, led by Luis A. Mora, will validate the proposals before conducting proof-of-concept tests on March 19 to ensure alignment with electoral system needs.
At least 19 companies have shown interest in the tender, with a key requirement being proven success in similar projects abroad. The new ID card will incorporate advanced technology to enhance security and prevent identity fraud.
