Cap Cana.- Defense Minister Lieutenant General Carlos Antonio Fernández Onofre has ordered the deployment of Air Force aircraft equipped with the Bambi Bucket system to support firefighting efforts at the Cap Cana Farallón forest fire. Major General Floreal Suárez Martínez, commander of the Dominican Republic Air Force, is overseeing the operation.
This effort, coordinated with the Ministry of the Environment, SENPA, the Fire Department, and Civil Defense, aims to contain the fire and protect local biodiversity. The Bambi Bucket system, capable of carrying between 270 and 10,000 gallons of water, enables efficient aerial firefighting in hard-to-reach areas.
