Police investigate deadly incident at Uvero Alto construction site

La Altagracia.- Authorities are investigating a violent altercation at a hotel construction site in Uvero Alto, La Altagracia, where a Haitian worker, Pierre Frisnord (29), was fatally shot, and a Dominican man, Héctor Andrés Ramírez Pérez (45), was injured. Several vehicles were also set on fire during the incident.

According to preliminary reports, the conflict began with an argument between Haitian workers and the construction foreman. Ramírez Pérez allegedly fired a 9mm pistol, killing Frisnord. In retaliation, a group of Haitian nationals attacked Ramírez Pérez, leaving him with multiple injuries. The firearm was stolen, and company vehicles were torched.

Police recovered a 24-inch machete near the scene and detained six Haitian citizens for questioning. The victim’s body has been sent to INACIF for examination, while authorities continue investigating and searching for the missing weapon.
