Dominican Republic unveils development vision at NYC Latin American Summit
New York.- Roger Pujols, Deputy Minister of the Presidency for Special Projects and Security Coordination, delivered a keynote speech at the Latin American Summit hosted by the New York City Bar Association. Representing both the Dominican government and the New York State Bar Association as its bar exam director, Pujols shared the country’s ambitious development strategy under the theme: “A nation that chooses to transform itself in peace.”
Pujols highlighted President Luis Abinader’s goal to double the Dominican Republic’s real GDP by 2036 through inclusive and sustainable growth. Key initiatives include the transformation of Pedernales and Cabo Rojo into major tourist destinations with over 3,000 hotel rooms and a new airport, the development of the Port of Manzanillo as a logistics and energy hub, rare earth mineral exploration, the Monte Grande dam project, and comprehensive police reform.
The address was delivered before a distinguished audience of Latin American officials, diplomats, legal experts, and U.S. law firms, including former Puerto Rico Governor Luis Fortuño and former U.S. Ambassador Julissa Reynoso.
