Preliminary report on Jet Set roof collapse submitted

Santo Domingo.- The commission investigating the roof collapse of the Jet Set nightclub has submitted its preliminary report to the authorities, confirmed Leonardo Reyes Madera, director of the National Office for Seismic Assessment and Vulnerability of Infrastructure and Buildings (Onesvie). Reyes Madera, who also coordinates the investigation, stated the team has fulfilled its responsibilities but did not disclose specific findings.
The investigation group includes both national and international experts, such as forensic engineer Fierro from the University of California, pathologist Máximo Corominas from Spain’s Eduardo Torrojas Institute, engineer Marcos Paniagua from the Catholic University of Chile, and earthquake-resistant design specialist Remi Luciano. The team began its work on April 8, the day the collapse occurred, as noted by President Luis Abinader.
In parallel, the Public Prosecutor’s Office is set to examine the cellphone of Gregory Adames, a Jet Set employee, to retrieve conversations with nightclub owner Antonio Espaillat. According to Adames’s lawyer, Plinio Pina, the messages contain warnings about the roof’s instability prior to the tragic incident. Adames has filed a legal complaint, and both the forensic report and the phone analysis are expected to play a crucial role in the ongoing legal case.
