Flor para Todos Foundation calls for reopening of Chinese businesses in Santo Domingo
Santo Domingo.- Rosa Ng, president of the Flor para Todos Foundation, urged President Luis Abinader to intervene so that Chinese-owned businesses recently closed by the Ministry of Housing (MIVED) can reopen. The establishments were shut down due to structural flaws, but Ng stressed their importance for thousands of employees and families who depend on them.
The appeal was made during the celebration of the 76th anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China and the Mid-Autumn Festival in Santo Domingo’s Chinatown. Ng emphasized the negative impact the closures have had on both Chinese business owners and Dominican workers, calling for a “viable solution” that allows operations to resume.
She also expressed gratitude to her team, the Fujianese community, and supporting companies such as Dulce Hogar and Suplax for their contributions to the event. Ng, recognized as a key promoter of Dominican-Chinese relations, highlighted that reopening the businesses would benefit the most vulnerable sectors of society.

Fix the issues, and you can open up again; no special treatment for people who operate illegally.
Will those businesses continue to evade taxes?
