La Vega–Jarabacoa Highway reopens after landslide
La Vega.- The Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC) announced that traffic on the La Vega–Jarabacoa highway has been restored following a landslide in the La Virgen section caused by recent rains.
MOPC crews quickly cleared the debris, reopening the road in both directions. Authorities urged drivers to remain cautious due to ongoing rainfall and the potential for new landslides, while MOPC teams will continue monitoring and providing assistance in the area.

Always exercise caution on the mountain roads. Communicate with known locals in zones of risks, especially when rains happen. The locals have a better sense of what is happening. Usually, public media information is too late or too little.
