Trough will bring moderate rains

Moderate to heavy downpours, thunderstorms, and gusty winds are expected today in the areas of Elías Piña, San Juan, Dajabón, Santiago Rodríguez, Azua, Santiago, Hato Mayor, Monte Plata, El Seibo, and San Pedro de Macorís.

The Dominican Meteorological Institute (Indomet) also reported that the rains will be caused by a trough and are expected to begin in the afternoon and continue into the evening.

As for temperatures, the weather forecasting agency predicts they will remain hot, with lows between 21°C and 23°C and highs between 33°C and 35°C.

For this reason, the Meteorological Service recommends that the population drink plenty of water, wear lightweight, light-colored clothing, and avoid prolonged sun exposure, especially from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
