Dominican Embassy promotes national flavor in Honduras

Honduras.- The Embassy of the Dominican Republic in Honduras stood out at the Tegucigalpa International Gastronomic and Cultural Festival, held on Cervantes Avenue in the capital’s historic center. The event brought together hundreds of families, residents, and members of the Dominican community, who enjoyed a vibrant celebration of gastronomy and culture.

Representing the country’s rich heritage, the Dominican Embassy showcased two stands that became major attractions during the festival. The first focused on gastronomy, offering visitors traditional Dominican dishes, tropical juices, and local beers, as well as a cultural display featuring the iconic Diablo Cojuelo character, symbolizing the essence of Dominican carnival.

The second stand highlighted Dominican products such as coffee, rum, and tobacco, with tastings that captured the attention of attendees and promoted the nation’s tourism and export potential. Ambassador Luis García Mercado emphasized that this participation reflects the Embassy’s mission to strengthen cultural diplomacy and deepen ties between the Dominican Republic and Honduras.
